Family contact within the community – helping you to spend time with loved ones, doing activities that children and families enjoy.
Ymestyn provides family contact services and day respite services within South Wales, utilising community venues and resources. The service was founded by two qualified Social Workers with 15 year’s experience in front line statutory Social Care teams. We are passionate in delivering child focused and family led services by utilising a strengths-based approach.
Ymestyn will deliver a holistic concept of family contact services, whilst implementing trauma informed practice to enable families to develop a trusting relationship with staff. The aim is to help families relax into a natural environment.
We consider the environment in which contact is facilitated carefully, to ensure the child has a positive, meaningful experience. Venues are identified in accordance with needs and risks, which includes, 1-1, private spaces that allows families to spend time together in a more controlled environment. Ymestyn will work with families with a focus on progression, to enable relationships to flourish.
On request, we can also provide learning opportunities to those who are open to developing alternative parenting styles in a safe space.
We offer bespoke family contact packages to various localities.
Robust, holistic risk assessments and safety plans are completed. Venue’s are chosen in accordance with individual needs and risks.
We can deliver our services in both English and Welsh language.
Reports are provided to parents and professionals on request.

Ymestyn has received support from the National Lottery Community Fund to help families spend time together by offering 6 hours without charge. Terms and conditions apply. Please contact us for further information.
