2Live Outreach Project offers carers/parents day respite. As a social work led service, we offer carers and parents the opportunity to reduce their caring responsibilities for a couple of hours a day, to provide much-needed personal time.
We offer Day Respite services for young people between the ages of 12- 17 years old. Activities are tailored to young people. This service will be offered to all children regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, or disabilities. If there are circumstances whereby we cannot offer respite services, it will be in the best interest of the child. Children will be at the centre of our work and we can offer tailored packages, in accordance with their individual needs and development.
2Live will be able to offer 1:1 services on request. However, there will be times whereby risks may deem the respite session to be 2:1. In these cases, pre-meetings will be held to discuss how staff will manage risks to ensure the child maintains full benefits of the respite session.
Grouping
2Live will also offer grouping sessions – depending on age, needs and presenting risks. This will be an opportunity for children to be able to socialise and integrate with others in a safe space. Grouping can be accessed by all genders unless risks inform us otherwise.

Support for carers
Bridging The Gap Gwent (BTGG) is NEWCIS’ respite scheme that provides carers with financial support which enables a short period of rest from their caring role.
A short break from your caring role could include attending a personal appointment, an event or socialising with friends.
One of the ways you can access Ymestyn, is via Bridging the Gap. If you care for someone and reside in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport or Torfaen, you could be eligible to access the award-winning scheme.
The scheme is accessible to unpaid adult carers.
